APRIL MEETING
 

DATE: April 27, 2010

TIME: Dinner: 6:00 pm, Program: 7:00 pm

DINNER: Hot Buffet plan from Tony's: Carved Roast Beef w/Au jus; Spicy Sweet Pepper Chicken; Tossed Green Salad w/dressing; String Beans with almonds; Fresh Fruit Salad; Rolls and Butter; Soda; and we will have Coffee/Tea courtesy of Alcan

 COST: $15.00

 PROGRAM: Kathy Stillings will present a program on the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.

 Kathy Stillings is a Senior Quality and Standards Engineer at the Alcan Cable Technology Center.

Note: Upon driving through the gate at Alcan, there are directional arrows showing the flow of traffic through the parking lot.  The traffic is directed through the parking lot via the arrows and drivers must pull into a spot (no backing into parking spots) and then walk following the lines painted on the pavement.  For the ASQ visitors there should be enough spots in front of the building to accommodate everyone.  After pulling through the gate the Technology Center is to the left.   Come to a complete stop and then turn left into the parking lot.  If the parking spots are all taken in front of the Technology Center, follow the arrows through the parking lot and park accordingly.  The best place to park would be the row next to the grass and you simply follow the sidewalk down to the Technology Center.  NO CAMERAS ARE ALLOWED ON SITE.

ASME Event/ Information for April

 

Tour of Ritz-Craft Modular and Manufactured Homes. The event is Saturday, April 24th from 11:00AM -1:00PM in the Industrial Park, Mifflinburg, PA. Please contact Dan Kerstetter to sign up for the tour before April 20th. Please call him at 814-863-7142 or send him an email at dfk3@psu.edu.  We would like to know how many members and guests will be attending to prepare for tour guides. Please go to http://www.modulartoday.com/Ritz-Craft.html  for information about Ritz-Craft Corporation. Ritz-Craft is located in the Industrial Park in Mifflinburg. From Route 45 west of Mifflinburg, turn north into the Industrial Park. The Industrial Park is located just west of the Route 104 intersection with Route 45. The address is 15 Industrial Park Road in Mifflinburg. We will be meeting at the Designer Homes sales office on 8th Street.

 

 

Penn State Engineering Design Showcase will be held Thursday, April 29th from 1:00-3:00PM at the Bryce Jordon Center (BJC). There will be many Penn State ME students demonstrating their working prototypes on various topics. This is a great opportunity for Central PA Section members to see industry sponsored projects that the ME students are designing. The design showcase is located at the Bryce Jordon Center’s Annex Gym.
